Cityalight has blessed the Church with another biblically robust song to sing together and in our homes. Cityalight wrote this song with the words of Jesus in mind as he prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." (Matthew 26:39b). Cityalight wants us to remember Jesus who was perfectly obedient to the Father, even to death. Cityalight writes on their website:
"We offer this simple song, simply played, in the midst of this present trial, so that you might be able to pray these words along with our Saviour. There is a God who is still ruling on the throne, and He is our good and loving Father. If there is anything in which you can put your trust at this uncertain time, let it be the will of your loving Father."
Thanks to the perfect obedience of Jesus Christ to the Father, Christians experience an unshakable hope of knowing our lives are safe in the hands of our good Father.
I am truly thankful for God's use of Cityalight's music in my own home. I encourage you to learn this song and to sing it to yourselves in prayer.
